We all begin somewhere on our learning curve in life, whether in the classroom or parenting. Having been in sales and marketing, I had heard of SEO and how companies need to be doing it but not how it actually worked. I have pulled together the ABC’s of SEO and then added a couple more letters to give the full picture.
Where do we begin with SEO? To quote a song, that has been sung in my home many times, “Let’s start at the very beginning. A very good place to start. When you read, you begin with ABC and when you sing you being with … “well, you know the rest.Details

At MetaSense you will likely hear us bring up the iMetadex or our iMetadex Coding ™ process. But what is this iMetadex Coding we are talking about?
The elevator pitch is really simple: iMetadex is a process of coding we devised to help with website optimization. The term Work Smarter Not Harder is a term that can be applied to almost anything, in this case digital marketing is the smarter and brick and mortar marketing is the harder. Our first step should be to explain what they both are, than we can get into why I say that digital marketing is just the smarter choice. Of course it goes without saying any company that has a large enough marketing budget should still incorporate both.Details
If you would have said to me in 2010 that internet marketing would be in the forefront of the industry in five years I would have laughed at you but, it seems the student has out grown the teacher. Internet marketing is steadily becoming more relevant than physical advertising. For years internet marketing got the crumbs but the real money always went to the big, traditional agencies.
Well I can safely say it’s a new day and internet marketing is growing furiously and forever. Brands have been steadily shifting their marketing budgets to our side of the table. This change is causing huge amounts of chaos in our industry. If you think I’m just talking I will let the facts speak for themselves.
Online Marketing, Social Marketing, Digital Marketing etcetera etcetera. If you have heard these terms come up in discussions of marketing plans and didn’t know what they mean or how they could help. Don’t worry we are here to help. I’m going to shed some light on this murky subject known as Internet Marketing.Details
Let’s start with the explanation of what a Client Relationship Management system aka CRM is. Because I’m assuming if you don’t know what a CRM is, that you’re not using one in your business.
Wikipedia states that
“A Client Relationship Management system aka CRM is a system for managing a company’s interactions with current and future customers. It often involves using technology to organize, automate, and synchronize sales, marketing, customer service, and technical support.”Details
If you have moved locations, or have never really thought about how your business is listed, you should really keep reading this. Search Engines and Directories are at the fore front of Ranking Factors. But before I get all Techi on you let me break this concept down. If you owned a physical store would you move and not forward your mail? Would you leave your signage at the old locations and just put up new signs? Of Course the answer is No. At least I hope it is. So why should your website be any different? I’ve heard and experienced Business owners that have had two or three different phone numbers listed and old locations in one Search Engine and their new location in a different one.Details

The year is 2015 traditional business marketing has become obsolete. The average consumer is tired of the gimmicks and doesn’t want to feel like they are being sold too. In fact only 1% of millennial’s said that a compelling advertisement would make them trust a brand. So if you are saying to yourself “if good advertising doesn’t work? Then what are we supposed to do to gain consumers trust and eventually their business?” The answer is simple get creative.
I would suggest any ideas or campaigns that you have ran in the past throw them out the window. Any new ideas you have that don’t really excite you, get rid of them. You must go outside of the box and get creative. The team that is ok with average ideas and campaigns will get average results and for the higher ups that put chains on their marketing team, take them off! To quote Micheal Brenner
“Behind every piece of bad content is an executive who asked for it.”
Should SEO be important to your business? I think to answer this question we need to first discuss what Seo stands for.
- S stands for the word search
- E stands for the word engine.
- O stands for Optimization.
Sure anyone can make a website nowadays if they don’t mind it looking like everyone one else’s. But true Optimization is a custom Theme and approach for each individual website. Only then will you begin to stand out from your competitor’s. Let’s not forget a strong aspect of Search Engine Optimization is making your website both user and search engine friendly for everyone to understand. Search engines are getting more and more sophisticated in many ways, but they still don’t understand a web page the same way a human does.Details

For most people including myself Memorial Day means family, barbeque, beer, music, and sunshine with the occasional fireworks thrown in here and there mostly we hold off on those until the 4th of July. But how many of us actually take time out of that great and think back about the history of it all and how Memorial Day actually got started. Here is some fun facts about what Memorial day is about and how it started.
Did You Know that Memorial Day Was Originally Called Decoration Day?
On the first Decoration Day, General James Garfield stood in front 5,000 participants and made a speech at Arlington National Cemetery. Than those 5,000 participants decorated the graves of the 20,000 Union and Confederate soldiers buried there. Most graves of soldiers are still decorated on Memorial Day as a sign of respect for their service to our country.
The History Behind Memorial Day And Its Creator
In 1873 New York was the first state to officially recognize Memorial Day. The rest of the northern states recognized the holiday by 1890. Until after World War I the South refused to acknowledge the day, honoring their dead on separate days. The only thing that changed their minds was when the holiday changed from honoring just those who died fighting in the Civil War to honoring Americans who died fighting in any war.
